We only have 3 more weeks!!! Ahhhhhh!!! Know that I am also stressed. But we can do this! I believe in you. Thank you to everybody that came to the meeting yesterday! We then discussed a suggestion box comment! From my standpoint, mental health is important and should be talked about more. As our chapter grows, we would like to increase awareness and be more open around this topic!

• Potential Exec Office Hours
• Exec board/meetings ALWAYS open to everybody. Know that you can come and talk to any of us. Shoot us a message. Sit in on our meetings and hear what we discuss! We would love to hear any feedback, concerns, or comments you have!

Claire Wilcox gave us a fantastic speech about how the four pillars of this fraternity impact her daily life! Here’s what I took away from her words:

• Wanted to make cupcakes, Can’t feel fingers
• Discussion about core values of Kappa
  • Musicianship, Leadership, Service, and Brotherhood
  • Head conductor of Phantom Regiment
    • Musicianship – “Quality over quantity”, Conducting Techniques
    • Leadership/Service – “The best leaders lead from the middle of the pack”, Delegation, Less glory, Work hard
    • Brotherhood – Broken culture, Divide of members, Priority of culture
  • Change is good. Adapting to become better. Thank you Claire!!

Then we moved to the first round of elections!!! Thank to you to everybody that served our chapter over this past year! We couldn’t have made it without you!! Here are the first half of your new exec team:

Hello Brothers! A lot has happened within the past couple weeks! We planned our retreat, started committee meetings, and voted in our newest member on the executive board!! (Hint: It’s Stazie) Can you believe we’re already a quarter of the way through the semester?!?! Good luck with midterms and stick in there! You can do it!!

After the review of policies, we talked about earning more money through CSI!!!

• Up to $1000 for operational costs
  • $200 for food
  • $800 for other things: Shirts, scholarships for members that aren’t paying, etc.
• $3000 per year for travel (strictly lodging, ground transportation, flights)
• “It’s my money and I need it now!” – Gabi/Bennett
• CSI is “rad” and “cool”, “We should do it!” – Jesse, General Thumbs Up!!!!
• Gabi and Bennett will meet with a CSI rep as soon as possible

Here is a debrief of our suggestion box! (Which is right on this website!) And I wanted to say that if you do feel any concern at all or want to express something anonymously, please do! Your opinion is welcomed by the entire chapter!

Hello brothers – can you believe it’s been a month since we’ve had our last meeting? So much has happened – MWD Convention, Retreat, tons of Pstuesdays, service events, recital, and digitizing! Our meeting today recapped everything over the last couple weeks and lots of business items!

We then had a debrief of all our MWD Convention information:

• We got slated for a convention bid! But TBS doesn’t like us so we didn’t get the vote.
  • The Convention Bid will now go to the governors to decide where the 2019 Convention will be
  • If you’re interested in looking at the bid packet for the governors, come to meet with the convention bid committee! They meet at 7pm on Wednesday in the Imig Seminar Room.

• We don’t have a sec/treas for the district level!
  • If you’re interested in submitting a nominations packet, talk to Kristina! Ahnika and Tate have experience working at the district level and would love to tell you guys about their experiences!

  • We won the Service Showcase award but still need donations!
    • Please share this campaign as much as possible! Best practice for most donations is direct emails. You can find the campaign here.
  • Carrie is putting together a group to take over Pearl Street on Saturday, April 28th for those who are interested in getting some donations together! Keep an eye out for more information regarding this later.

  • The committee is shifting towards the education segment of our goals

    • Putting together a program where people can know more about the constitution and more about their rights as a brother!
  • If you’re interested in giving input into the constitution, come check out Jurisdiction committee! We meet in Cristol Chemistry 146 from 5-6pm on Wednesdays!

  • This coming Pstuesdays is a movie night, next week is a trivia night, then a Smoreos cookout!

We then went over some business items! First, we voted on some amendments (note: the slates that are being referred here refer to this document (which you all are good brothers and read the document before coming to today’s meeting))

• Slates One, Two, Three, Four, and Twelve passed
  • Slate Four passed conditionally – needs additional research into what the national constitution entails.
• The other slates that weren’t passed can also be seen here. These will be voted on during the elections meeting – if you haven’t read them before then, now is your chance!
  • You can see the item-by-item list of why each amendment was written in this document here.
    

We then nominated for all of our positions!

• If you were nominated, you will be getting an email soon from Kristina detailing the entire elections process!
  • You don’t necessarily have to accept your nomination.
• Take a look at the Officer Transition Manuals made by your lovely executive committee in the next coming days – these give lots of information as to what your job entails!
• PR Chair is an appointed position! If you’re interested in becoming the next PR chair, talk to your past PR Chairs (Gabi and Ahnika)!
  • Send a page of why you would want to be the next PR chair to Kristina by the end of finals – you should hear back soon after that!

IT’S AMENDMENT TIME

Hello brothers! Long time no see! The Jurisdiction Committee is proud to present their amendment proposals to the entire chapter to vote on. Get ready, lots of things need to be taken care of! In order to save as much time as possible, PLEASE read the following documents and come prepared to ask any questions about the proposed constitutional amendments. We have 66 amendments that could be added, so it is critical that we get through each amendment as quickly as possible! Below are the two documents necessary before Sunday’s meeting:

Proposed Chapter Amendments – Including what the current constitution states and what the proposed language will state.

Amendment Reasoning – Including an item-by-item description of the purpose of each amendment.

(Note: to save time, the Jurisdiction Committee will be proposing amendments using “slates,” in which groups of amendments are voted on at once to be more time efficient.)
