We had such a fantastic turnout for applicants. I am so excited to see where this new executive board takes the chapter! If you did not get elected, I highly recommend you consider submitting an application for an appointed position or run for a position in the future! We would love to hear all of your wonderful ideas and want you to be involved! We only have 3 more weeks!!! Ahhhhhh!!! Know that I am also stressed. But we can do this! I believe in you. Thank you to everybody that came to the meeting yesterday! We then discussed a suggestion box comment! From my standpoint, mental health is important and should be talked about more. As our chapter grows, we would like to increase awareness and be more open around this topic!

• Potential Exec Office Hours
• Exec board/meetings ALWAYS open to everybody. Know that you can come and talk to any of us. Shoot us a message. Sit in on our meetings and hear what we discuss! We would love to hear any feedback, concerns, or comments you have!

Claire Wilcox gave us a fantastic speech about how the four pillars of this fraternity impact her daily life! Here’s what I took away from her words:

• Wanted to make cupcakes, Can’t feel fingers
• Discussion about core values of Kappa
  • Musicianship, Leadership, Service, and Brotherhood
  • Head conductor of Phantom Regiment
    • Musicianship – “Quality over quantity”, Conducting Techniques

    • Brotherhood – Broken culture, Divide of members, Priority of culture
  • Change is good. Adapting to become better. Thank you Claire!!

Then we moved to the first round of elections!!! Thank to you to everybody that served our chapter over this past year! We couldn’t have made it without you!! Here are the first half of your new exec team:

• We had a long discussion about the survey. If you would like to see any part of it, you can access it here! Here are the main takeaways!
  • Doing the best you can for the chapter is perfect!
  • Kappa should never be your #1 goal all the time
  • Committee Structure
    • Set up meeting dates/times at beginning of semester
    • 75% attendance policy will stay in place
  • Remaining productive, civil, and respectful in our efforts as a chapter

We then discussed the acceptance of our now conditional members!

• We proposed a Sweeping Vote to accept all 5 conditional letters that have been approved by our Sponsor, Dr. Roeder
  • Andrea Austin, Celeste Landy, DJ McAllister, Carrie Proctor, and Hannah Harm
• All 5 conditional letters have been passed as accepted!
• Gabi Bartmann is now Alumni Status
• Armando Solis – Conditional status declined by Dr. Roeder
• Spencer will communicate with Dr. Roeder/Armando to see if we can come up with a game plan to decide what we do. Will keep us updated

• Purpose: Generate and Execute service projects
• Goal: Implementing Mini-Projects

• Purpose: Connect and Engage with other chapters and the student community

Music – Kaitlyn

• Purpose: Facilitate musical appreciation and Enhance musical ability

• Purpose: Teach the youngin’s
• Goals: Integration of the youngin’s

Good afternoon Brothers!

We just had our LAST meeting of the semester! (And boy was it a long one…) A big thanks to each and everyone of you that stayed for the whole meeting! There were several important items we covered: Convention Hype, MC Re-nominations, and Fall Elections! As for the rest of the semester, sign up to get bids out! They need to be done this week! But most importantly…finals! (Ahhhh) You only have a week and a half left. You can do this. I believe in you. Never give up. Never surrender.

We then went to reevaluating our potential MC’s!

• There were several concerns about how large the upcoming class would be! Several thought we were not being picky enough in our requirements. We would need a lot of big brothers and several of our members have resigned or are becoming conditional this next semester. Most importantly, it is an honor to be a member of Kappa and we should treat it as such!
• After careful consideration, we offered bids to 25 new candidates!! All of these candidates exemplified the pillars of Kappa Kappa Psi and put extensive effort into learning about our chapter and into their essay questions!

Later on in the meeting, our wonderful officers provided our chapter with their officer reports. So much has been accomplished this semester! Thank you officers for all your hard work and I can’t wait to see what this next semester’s officers can provide for this chapter and it’s success!

We finally went through our Fall Election process to decide several positions within our chapter’s executive team! If you want to see the logistics of the election process, you can read them here! Below are the new executive board members! Congrats y’all!

We then nominated our first half of potential brothers! We made sure to be picky about our candidates and evaluated them based on their effort put into the survey, their general attitudes and experiences with band as well as their overall personalities hanging out with our active brothers over recruitment week!

Next, we transitioned into accepting nominations for music, service, and brotherhood! Refer back to the full minutes here to see if you got nominated!

If you are planning on running for any of these positions, please prepare a platform for the next meeting (Dec. 9th)! I can’t wait to see what everybody has prepared! Additionally, next meeting will be rather long, but is super important!!! Please make sure you clear your schedules to be there!

After finishing up the nominations, we played some music! More specifically, Boh’s Kappa March! Again, thank you for bringing your instruments! It was very much appreciated!
